Digital Twin Teacher is a work in progress exploring how motion capture can visualize craft.
The project creates a motion capture visualization of a sawing motion with a specific focus on
three dimensions of the experience: body movement, sound, and the movement of the instrument
(the saw). The digital twin of the motion is meant to convey, to a viewer, what otherwise only
passes from hand to hand.

The visualization is built as a digital twin of a bodily skill: the sawing motion is captured once and then re-presented through separate sensory channels, so that the movement of the body, the sound of the cut, and the path of the saw can each be attended to on its own terms.
